[RFC] Chinese Research & Education Kit: CoW Intent Trading and MEV Protection

Summary

We’d like to propose a Chinese-language research and education kit covering CoW Protocol’s intent-based trading architecture and MEV protection. The kit would include an in-depth research report, visual explainers, and a bilingual glossary — all open-source (CC0).

Motivation

  1. Strategic fit (CIP-82 2026 mandate): user/developer onboarding + MEV protection are two of the three mandate themes. In-depth Chinese-language material on CoW’s mechanism is nearly non-existent today.
  2. Sourcing: we noted the Grants Committee’s openly stated sourcing challenge — the same few teams reply to every RFP. We’re a new team and would like to contribute net-new coverage to a new language community.
  3. No conflict with the Translation RFP: long-form content was explicitly out of scope for the UI Translation RFP (Phase 1); this proposal is additive. The glossary deliverable is designed to be reusable for a potential Phase 2 (e.g., Chinese UI localization).

Scope & Deliverables

  • D1 — Research report (Chinese): CoW auction mechanism, solver competition, CoW matching, MEV Blocker design, plus a practical user guide. Published CC0.
  • D2 — 10 infographics + 3 short-video scripts (Chinese) derived from the report.
  • D3 — EN→ZH glossary (~200 terms), structured for reuse in future localization work.

Milestones (8 weeks total)

  • M1 (weeks 1–2): outline + glossary v1
  • M2 (weeks 3–6): report draft + infographics
  • M3 (weeks 7–8): final report + community review round

Budget: $8,000–$12,000 (stablecoins), paid per milestone.

Team: We’re a newly formed research/content team focused on Chinese-language coverage of DAO governance and DeFi mechanisms. We don’t claim prior CoW grants history — we’re new, and we see that as the point: bringing a new audience and a new language community into the CoW ecosystem. We recently completed a multi-DAO research survey (in Chinese) and can share a writing sample on request.

Questions for the committee and community

  1. Does this fit current grant priorities?
  2. Any preferences on report depth/format, or on the glossary structure?
  3. Would the glossary be useful input for a future Translation Phase 2?

Looking forward to your feedback before we submit a formal application.

Hi @daotrading-zh, thanks for your interest in COW Grants.

Long-form educational content isn’t something the committee is prioritising for funding right now, so we wouldn’t encourage a formal application. If you do publish Chinese-language material on CoW independently, feel free to share it here on the forum.

Thanks for the clear guidance, Sov. We understand the committee’s current priorities. We’ll proceed with publishing Chinese-language material independently and will share it here on the forum.
